Accessibility Resources ensures equal access to university curriculum, programs, and facilities for students with disabilities by facilitating reasonable accommodations, providing resources, and collaborating with the greater community to meet students’ individual needs.

How to Obtain Accommodations & Support

Disclosing that you have a disability is a personal decision. Prospective and current students are welcome to contact us with questions about obtaining accommodations. Upon enrolling at the Academy of Art University, new students who plan to request accommodations are encouraged to contact Accessibility Resources as soon as possible. Early identification can be the key to ensuring a smooth beginning to your semester. Often, arrangements and accommodations can be time-consuming to coordinate, especially interpreter scheduling, furniture and design modifications, and alternative format production–advanced planning allows us to meet your needs and give you access to programs and services from day one.

Student Veterans

Welcome to the Academy of Art University and thank you for your service! Accessibility Resources is committed to supporting student veterans to obtain accommodations, and provide support based on each person’s unique challenges. Our goal is to ensure students have equal access to university facilities and courses through a supportive community and valuable resources. Our Accessibility Representative is available to meet with you to talk about potential accommodations and answer any questions you may have. Whether the disability has been lifelong or recently diagnosed, Accessibility Resources can help you navigate service-related and/or non-service-related disabilities at the Academy of Art University. We understand that obtaining paperwork from Veterans Affairs can be challenging. Whether or not you have any type of medical documentation with a diagnosis from a VA or civilian hospital, or any other professional health center, please contact us.

Confidentiality

Accessibility Resources respects your privacy and will not release disability-related information without your written permission.
